MENTORING

Mentoring

Credible Messengers United Program is a transformative mentoring initiative designed to support justice-involved individuals in making a successful return to community life. More than just guidance, it offers a lifeline of understanding, accountability, and hope.

This unique program connects participants with trained mentors who share similar lived experiences — many of whom have overcome their own justice involvement and rebuilt their lives. Because our mentors have “been there,” they can offer authentic insight, practical advice, and emotional support that others often cannot.

Our focus extends beyond the individual — we also engage families in the reentry process, helping them rebuild trust, strengthen relationships, and create a stable support system at home. From day one of release, we assist participants in navigating critical areas such as housing, employment, education, healthcare access, and community reintegration.

Through consistent check-ins, goal-setting sessions, and life skills training, CMU mentors work to reduce recidivism, address the root causes of harmful behavior, and promote personal growth. The program doesn’t just help participants survive the transition back into society — it empowers them to thrive, contribute, and create a positive future for themselves and their communities.
